Pavement Evaluation and Maintenance Plan – Tocumen International Airport, Panama

Strinso executed a complete structural, functional, and surface pavement evaluation at the Tocumen International Airport, located in Panama City. The purpose of this project was to determine in detail the current condition of the airport’s runways, taxiways, and aprons, complying with FAA and ICAO technical guidelines, and aiming to support strategic planning for medium- and long-term airport maintenance.

The project aimed to diagnose the structural, functional, and surface condition of the pavements at Tocumen Airport, estimate their remaining service life, calculate the ACR/PCR ratios, and design a 5-year Maintenance Plan, optimizing resources through the use of specialized AIRPORTS software.

  • Determination of the encoded PCR value according to the ICAO standard
