Pavement Evaluation on the Alto Magdalena Concession – IRI, Rutting, Texture, and Friction Measurements
Strinso leads the functional pavement evaluation on the Alto Magdalena concession, covering a total of 195 km of roadway across Functional Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, between Girardot and Puerto Salgar. This multi-year project, contracted by Concesión Alto Magdalena, aims to measure and analyze key functional pavement parameters to ensure operational safety and optimize maintenance resource allocation for the road infrastructure.
The project carried out in 2024 included the measurement of key pavement performance indicators such as the International Roughness Index (IRI), rutting, texture, and friction across the defined roadway sections. These measurements were conducted using high-performance equipment, including the Dynatest Mark III Road Surface Profiler (RSP) for IRI, rutting, and texture assessments, and the Mu Meter for friction measurements, ensuring reliable data for accurate pavement condition evaluation.
